Thiru’s Gourmet was born from our restaurant kitchen in Waterloo, backed by Chef Thiru’s nearly 50 years of international experience — and a passion for real, bold flavours — met a local craving for convenience without compromise. Our soups, simmer sauces, and chutneys bring the warmth of homemade meals to busy Canadian families, crafted in small batches in our chef’s kitchen using authentic methods and gluten-free, (mostly) plant-based ingredients.
When customers at our restaurants asked for ways to enjoy our food at home and their cottage, we realized the demand for ready-to-eat options that don’t sacrifice health or taste. From our award-winning Mullugtwanny Soup, signature recipe (plant-based, gluten-free, and low sodium soup), our deep involvement in community events from Windsor to Ottawa, to our innovative jar-return program with Circulr.ca, we are committed to our community, sustainability while delivering a delightful experience.
Each jar proudly carries the Ontario Made logo, celebrating our roots and partnerships with local suppliers. Our retail expansion, from neighbourhood markets to retailers across Southern Ontario, is driven by a belief that good food should be simple, bold, and accessible to all. We are constantly innovating, from new flavourful products that delight the Canadian consumer that balances form and function.
