THE HISTORY
Explore the Best of Local with Sheldon Creek Supply Co., your trusted distributor of homegrown excellence. Located in the heart of Ontario, we proudly connect you with a diverse selection of premium products from artisans and makers in our community. Our roots trace back to the DenHaan family's enduring legacy, crafted by pioneers Adrianus and Maartje during the post-World War II era in Alliston.
Established in 1953, Haanview Farms laid the foundation of our dairy heritage, starting with the acquisition of Maggie the cow. Fast forward to 2012, the establishment of Sheldon Creek Dairy marked a pivotal moment in our journey as we transitioned from producing raw milk to crafting our own lineup, including whole milk, yogurt, kefir, and our indulgent 45% cream. While our foundation is rooted in milk, our commitment has broadened to include an even more diverse selection of outstanding local products.
Under the guidance of leaders John, Bonnie, Marianne, and Emily Den Haan, each generation plays a crucial role in the evolution of Haanview Farm, Sheldon Creek Dairy, and our bustling Farm Store. However, Sheldon Creek Supply Co. now takes center stage as our dedicated distribution arm, curating and delivering a diverse range of premium products sourced from local makers.

Award Winning Gouda

MOUNTAINOAK CHEESE

Adam, Hannie & the van Bergeijk family operate the cheese plant in New Hamburg, Ontario. Originally from Holland, both attended the renowned cheesemaker’s school in Gouda. Although the plan for Canada was to focus on dairy farming only, some of their original cheesemaking equipment found its way into the container destined for their new homeland. In 2012, Mountainoak Cheese was built and the van Bergeijks continue the tradition of great-tasting, high-quality, award winning Gouda-style cheeses made with high-quality, fresh milk from their own dairy cows.

Award winning Alpine style cheese

Stonetown Cheese

The Weber Family moved to Canada in 1996 to start their own dairy farm in St. Marys, Ontario. Having previously worked in the Swiss Alps, it was always their dream to produce delicious cheese reminiscent of the renowned Swiss Mountains and made from their own milk. With a profound commitment to creating cheese of the highest quality, and the support of family, as well as Ramon Eberle, a Master Cheesemaker from Switzerland, their humble dream became a reality. In order to obtain a great taste, the milk is unpasteurized and has no additives. This ensures the cheese is pure and natural.

Cheese Curds

Bright Cheese

Bright Cheese and Butter dates back to 1874 when a group of local farmers used their surplus milk to create a cheese factory with an emphasis on cheddar.  By the 20th century, Bright Cheese had grown and so had the Canadian cheddar market which had become Canada's number two export and led to the establishment of 1,242 cheddar factories in Ontario.  Over 140 years later they are still producing award winning cheeses at their 1800s factory in Bright Ontario.
